Project 2011: 100 Little Việt or 100 Thằng Cu Việt

a small collaborative project with Banh Xeo Mandolin Mai Nguyen, using clay to make 100 small figured dressed up in red and yellow outfits.

This project was inspired by the event of Jun 5th of 2011, which took place in my homeland, Viet Nam, when a group of Vietnamese patriotic people gathered in front of Chinese embassy in Ha Noi and it's consulate in Sai Gon to protest Chinese Government policy in South China Sea.

The event from both places was stopped by the Vietnamese secret police forces. Couple of the protesters got arrested.

This little art is a my big dedication to them, the brave Viets.

Project 2009: The 100 (Monkeys)

seven- month- project collaborating with Banh Xeo Mandolin Mai Nguyen to hand- sew 100 red and yellow monkeys.

The project has not be installed any where else but in my small studio. I am searching a space large enough to install 100 of them to get a better picture of this project.

This is my collaborative partner.
